Official Candidates for Snow Hill Mayor and Eastern District Council Seat Announced at 4:30 This Afternoon

It’s official, Snow Hill!!
Two candidates have filed to run for Mayor:

–  Janet Simpson, currently serving as        Eastern District Councilwoman, and also retired Educator/ Administrator at WCPS
–  Rob Hall, Eastern District resident, former
   Councilman, and Snow Hill historian

Two Candidates for the Eastern District Council Seat:

– Ed Lee, lifelong resident and Lower Shore
  Realtor
– Katie Carey, also a lifelong resident and
  Community Advocate

All four candidates reside in the Eastern District of town.

Current Districts in the Town of Snow Hill

All voters select a Mayor to serve a two-year term. The Mayor represents the town At-Large and serves as the Chief Administrator of the town.  Eastern District residents will also select a Council representative who will also serve for two years. Council members are the legislative arm of governance, representing the interests of their particular community and the Town at-large.

Election officials will be able to assist each voter at the polls on election day, if there are any questions.

Anyone who lives in Town and registered to vote by this afternoon at 4:30 is eligible to Vote in the May 7th election. Voting will occur in person at the old Train Station Depot on Belt Street. You may also request an absentee ballot from Town Hall until April 24th.
